Health Care Reform
Health Care Reform The Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act (2010)
Some health care reform legislation was signed into federal law in the USA in March 2010. There is a provision that helps people with a "preexisting medical condition" (that is to say a medical condition that has existed prior to a person attempting to take out the insurance) get insurance. Many people with brain injuries were being denied medical insurance because of their brain injuries. Apparently now they will be able to get some medical insurance. This is a good thing for the brain injury survivor in need of medical insurance.
We are hopeful that there are many provisions in this law that will help people with brain injuries. We look forward to more efforts in the future which will improve the health care delivery system for people with brain injuries in the USA even further.
